Book Spine Poetry Contest 2026

To celebrate poetry month, we are running a Book Spine Poetry Contest!  This is a poem created by stacking books on top of each other, with each title on the spine of a book making up a line in the poem.

How to make your poem:

  • Use books from home, a friend or family member, or a library.

  • Stack the books up to create your poem and take a picture.

  • Submit your poem via our WPL website  between April 1 and 30, or hand it in in person.

  • There are 2 age groups; under 16 and over 16

  • Winning poems will be chosen by our poets and published in our Boardwalk Banter.
